This meeting is the eight in a series begun in 1990 in St.Petersburg, Russia. The last two meeting were held in Hyogo, Japan (IWP2002) and in Campinas, Brazil (IWP2005). The meeting is intended to keep a small-scale format (100 to 150 participants) to facilitate informal discussion among scientists. Typically the number of young researchers (PhD students and junior scientists) is around at least one third of the total number of participants.
The workshop will consist of approximately twenty invited talks and twenty hot-topic talks, over 3.5 days, to represent some of the most significant areas in the vast field of photoionization. In addition, we will have about one hundred posters in two poster sessions. The official language of the meeting will be English.
